Re-Editing the Original Program?

^ Got any links. Would be interested to see that.

Nah, just played around with it years ago. Don't exist anymore. From memory I trimmed Tomb of the Cybermen down a bit, bringing the Cybermen intro forward in the storytelling, as opposed to leaving it until the end of episode two. I removed the part of the Doctor assisting that scientist who gets into the tomb, amongst others. Got rid of most of the Cybermat stuff too, including the sleeping scene (which was unfortunate as it had the great scene between the Doctor & Victoria about his past). There's actually quite a bit of filler material in it. It could have been taken down to 45 minutes quite easily.

The BBC did worse with the early VHS releases of Blakes 7, hacking three episodes togeather to make a sort of film. They were awful and god alone knows why they did it.

The Beginning actually contains footage never released anywhere else, with Avon and the guard (from Spacefall) having an extended fight scene that was trimmed from the later VHS and subsequent DVD releases. If you get hold of it there is some gold in there...

^Ah, never realised that, although it has been about 20 years since I saw the video, and it had been about ten years since I'd seen the show!

Frankly the thing was so badly put togeather that it almost put me off B7, it didn't remotely seem like the show I'd loved as a kid. Luckily the BBC corrected the mistake and released the episodes properly. I might have to see if I can locate a copy now though!

It would make for an interesting experiment all right. Though most Who episodes to me are just fine the way they are.

Though I have thought that a lot of Hartnell's could do with a good editing. Even I have trouble sitting through a lot of them. Especially when they're padded out with scenes of the characters walking around alien planets. The Web Planet for example would be a prime candidate.
