I find all the rebooting to be creatively bankrupt. I did enjoy ST09 for what it was, but no, I would not want to see TNG rebooted. I would far, far rather see another crew, on another ship, carrying Star Trek forward. Is it that hard to come up with another group of characters?
That was a bit harsh, especially considering all the creative work that goes into any film, be it a re-boot or not. For instance, the costuming, the FX, the music, the sound - none of these people have much say in whether the film itself is re-boot. And there was a lot of good work in ST09 along all those lines. I thought Quinto did an excellent job, even considering his voice is in the wrong range. (Spock = baritone in my book)While I don't agree about the creative bankruptcy
Given the way I feel about Trek IX, I voted "Are you crazy?"
Absolutely not! It was bad enough that they rebooted (i.e. ruined) TOS. I don't want to see the same thing happen to the much better TNG.
Personally I don't think a reboot is at all necessary. I think one can still go forward and make it work. It's a sad fact that we all have to making re-imaginings and reboots of old things rather than coming up with new ideas these days, especially considering that one should be able to come up with a multitude of new ideas in something like science fiction/fantasy!
