I agree he was a bit stiff in the first season, and anytime he had to act really excited it came off a bit forced, but that didn't happen all that often. For the most part I thought he was fantastic, and nailed just about every line he delivered.
Although I do wish they had played up his sarcastic humor a bit more. His exchanges with Bashir in "Cardassians" crack me up every time: "Don't apologize, it's been the high point of my day" and "By all means. Will one Runabout be enough?"

Yeah, that was good stuff. It would've been nice to see more often.
I thought Vic was way overused too, but he was the only sentient hologram in Trek I liked.
He was a hologram. He knew he was a holgram. And that was ok. He accepted his lot in 'life.' Artificial intelligence doesn't always have to be a Pinocchio.

Errrrr.... I'm on Season 4 so I haven't gotten to Sisko singing yet.

Fair Haven... ugh. I disliked those episodes only because I just couldn't stand watching Janeway date a hologram. I have nothing against holograms, especially ones who know they are holograms and accept it... but just... no.

I dunno, Janeway pacing around that hologram like a predator as she's making changes to it makes me laugh every time. Especially, "Computer... delete the wife." Other than that, yeah.. Fair Haven was just silly at best, facepalming the rest of the time.

I just have too much respect for Janeway...therefore watching her be so... desperate? Made me cringe a little.
I liked the Fair Haven characters. Just the Janeway bits with her pining after the bartender (who, I will admit, was extremely cute and charming) made me feel so sad for her. I understand she is in the middle of nowhere and "can't date her crew", but seriously? I can understand messing around with one of them, but she acted serious about him towards the end there. I was yelling at my tv, I think. Nooooo, he's a hologram! Come on!
Now, the Doctor... he is awesome. He can date all he wants. He's got a mobile emitter. He can at least walk around outside the ship. He's not bound to a program. So, I give him a pass. I still think the Doctor and Seven of Nine would have been a great pairing.
"Computer, delete the wife." That was a funny line though.
