Ratings for the Premier - Is this the end of SGU?

WOW, so the ratings in this second episode are down from the premier, and that was already bad. Geez look at Caprica.

Not good, whoever decided to put this on Tuesday night has killed both shows.

With Smackdown on friday nights, SY FY are never going to move the show back...SGU is dead.

FUCK YOU SYFY :scream:

While I've been consistently disappointed with this show, I hope it does turn around as I believe it has a lot of potential. And its the only space scifi on tv.

It won't if it continues to be on Tuesday night. Just saw that this is probably the last season of Caprica. Won't be surprised if SGU gets the axe next.

SyFy would have made more sense putting Smackdown on Thursdays. It used to be on Thursday back on UPN I believe. I think it would have given them considerably better ratings than what they get from their normal Thursday night programming because it would draw the hard-core rasslin' fans away from what the other networks show Thursday nights nowadays.

Then Friday could have been kept for their original genre content.

WWE probably would not of sold them the rights if they moved it to thursdays they seem happy with friday nights. SYFY should of done wednesdays cause its an open night really.

Whats with all the SGU hate? Let us that enjoy it, enjoy it without the choir of negativity :klingon: and stop gloating over the chance of its cancellation.

Who's gloating? I'm certainly not. I don't want this show to be canceled. But I also don't want it to be so consistently lousy. It has a lot of potential if only we had competent people writing it. The actors aren't the problem, the production values aren't the problem--it's all the writing.

I don't believe there is a single person in this thread "gloating" that the show's ratings are in serious decline, putting the show in jeopardy of cancellation. Furthermore, this so-called "choir of negativity" is people discussing what they don't like about the show, and there's a fair amount to criticize. There's also some stuff to like, but unfortunately for many of us the bad outweighs the good.

The ratings are bad, and declining, you have to look at this truth and figure out why they are so bad. Move to Tuesday? Writing? etc... many factors play into it. I want the ratings to be good, but they aren't, so something is wrong.

Luckily for me I had my DVR set to record all new episodes of both Caprica and Stargate-U. So when I was scanning thru my recorded shows I was really suprised to see new episodes recorded. Otherwise I would Never have known that they were back. That just shows how much they had been promoting the shows returns.
Its too bad that the networks dont really count DVR ratings, or at least consider them. But whomever came up with the idea to move both these shows to Tuesdays should be fired and get a job at McDonalds...

The networks do consider DVR numbers. However, it's the ratings company Nielsen Media Research and, by extension, the ad buyers who don't fully take into consideration DVR numbers. For a better picture at how DVR numbers are or are not considered, take a look at the article I linked to here earlier today. The article -- specifically the section I quoted in that thread -- does say that Nielsen, under pressure from various networks, is going to be changing its consideration of DVR numbers.

14 % increase for SGU but it needs a little more and am hoping after a very solid episode, we can ge closer to 1.5 million next week. When we get time shifted numbers for this season I bet they actually go up from what it was getting on fridays.
