I gave it a 3. I actually don't care for the director's cut. It was fine the way it was. And I DO like the starship love scene (flying around the space dock). The problem with today's kids is that they just want a lot of mindless action. The word 'pacing' just escapes them!!

It's one of my favorites; Best score, great effects- Starship porn and all. I love aspects of all released versions, so the perfect version from those, melded together in in my mind, is a 5.

Found it generally speaking boring as anything, far too slow paced and cerebral, to the point of being up itself. The basic idea was OK, but to me was boringly executed.

Endless gratuitous 'beauty shots' of the ship for no real reason other than to say 'gorge your eyes upon the ship'. Teasing reveals of portions or reflections before the "money shot" showing the whole thing.
An even worse version appears in ENT's "Broken Bow".
