Modern Family 1x02 The Bicycle Thief [B-]

This show is almost strictly drama. I watch it and enjoy it, but I don't laugh. It's good though. I can't exactly put my feelings into words...

The Office 6x01 Gossip

I'm not a regular office viewer, but this was funny. Especially the teaser.

Cougar Town 1x02 [A]

This show is offbeat. I love it.

Heroes - Ink - This show improves a lot when Tracey and Hiro aren't in it. (Kill them now! :rommie:) Matt's dilemma gets more interesting. Samuel is being written smartly - he knows precisely what buttons to push to manipulate Peter. The synethesia scene with Emma playing the violin was beautifully done. It really does help to remind the audience that having powers can be a magical thing, and not just a hellacious curse.

Flash Forward
- White to Play - They're evolving the characters and plotline nicely. But the marital woes of Mark and Olivia already bore the hell out of me. More Dimitri!

SG:U
- premiere - Eli is kinda interesting, but none of the other characters grab me, the plotline is far too familiar and the premise is unengaging. That's it for me.

1. That's FlashForward, even though they both have Olivias. ;)

2. You know you'll be back!

"Stargate: Universe" -- Air Parts I and II

Mediocre characters, a lot of clichés, some overacting, and a few too many plot contrivances. But the camerawork is finally interesting again, the production design is top notch, some of the acting is worthwhile, and there is potential for it to grow. 5/10.

"The Twilight Zone" -- Nightmare at 20,000 Feet

I've seen this episode at least twice before, but it's certainly worth watching again. Shatner's performance is great, and Richard Donner (in an early directing gig) keeps the tension raised even though the creature, outside of its face, is just a giant furball. 8/10.

Supernatural "The End" 9/10

Dean being transported to five years in a future that may or may not be a construct of the foul mouthed angel Zachariah was gruesome and heartbreaking, from seeing zombies infected with the Croatoan virus gunned down in the streets by the army to seeing his future self willing to murder his friends to get to the devil--a devil that has long since possessed his brother. A devil who needed his brother's permission to use him as a meatsuit. Dean initiated a tentative reconciliation with his devastated brother in the present, but the road will be extremely tough since all trust has been lost between them. Fantastic character work with all moments well earned. Ben Edlund's script was perfect, right down to presentDean confirming his identity to his future self with something only he would know, a story involving the trying on of womens lingerie. :guffaw:

1. Why do I keep confusing those two? :wtf:

2. No, really, I won't. ;)

Caught up on all of this past week's TV shows between last night and tonight, except for Castle, which I watched in real time:

1. Castle - (B+) Really...what's not to love?

2. NCIS - (A-) Glad Ziva is back.

3. NCIS: LA - (B) Much better than the sorta-pilot. Navy Seal guy is the best character on the show. He's a badass, and I love badasses. Chris O'Donnell serves the purpose of 'cute' and gets points for that from a female perspective....but I don't think 'cute' was his intended purpose on this show. :p

4. The Forgotten - (B-) If it wasn't for Christian Slater, this would be just another Bruckheimer clone. I'm giving it more of a chance because of it's star. But I'm afraid it's going to be too formulaic for me, in the end.

5. Eastwick - (D) If this show wasn't so stupid, it would be boring. I'll give it ONE more week. After that, adios.

6. FlashForward - (A) It would be hard to top that pilot, so it only got an "A" this week. But this is by far my favorite of the new crop of TV shows this season. It's like the urban version of LOST. Plus, Joseph Fiennes is exceedingly HOT.

7. Grey's Anatomy - (B-) Not a great episode, but not terrible either. Little Grey is still annoying as hell...but at least we are finally rid of the the all-time MOST annoying character on that show - George O'Malley. Man, this show is an improvement over last year, just based on his departure alone.

8. Private Practice - I only skimmed through this on my DVR, not watching the whole thing, so it's not fair to grade it. Only wanted to find out the ending to last season's cliffhanger. This show is still boring. WHY can't it just fail so that Kate Walsh can go back to Grey's Anatomy where she BELONGS? She was one of my favorite characters on Grey's Anatomy...and now she is mired down this this annoying lot. :(
