Rank Trek XI

Horrible, horrible movie. I couldn't believe that Abrams had a 6 year old James Kirk fight off an entire Borg sphere with just one hand phaser and a pile of horseshit from his farm in Iowa. And Kirk out the moves on a teenage Borg Queen. Made me sick!

I got a thrill out of seeing an 120 year old Archer show up and tell Kirk to get the hell off his lawn. Brilliant cameo! But when Kirk tried to hit on an ancient looking T'Pol I nearly tossed my cookies.

HUM....

Hops into a slightly modified DeLorian & sets it for 1/1/09
Gets out of the 'Time Machine' then goes online somewhere.
Reads how much the film has made on BoxOffice.com
Hops back into the 'Time Machine' returns to today.

#1. Star Trek (2008) $500,000,000.00 to date.

Well, guess that answers that, eh ?

Shouldn't you at least wait to judge its worthiness as a film until they actually start shooting, as opposed to the thing hitting theaters?

It is hard to say really - it's better than Spider-Man 4 and Fantastic Four 3 but not as good as Transformers 2.

Welcome to the Internet - where you can actually rate movies that haven't been made yet and still pretend you're clever! :p

I already said I thought I'd like this movie more than TSFS-NEM but not more than TMP or TWOK. I like to keep my predictions of the future consistent.

This scale is off-base. 1 should be "atrocious", 3 should be "awful", 5 should be "mediocre", and 7 should be "good". 10 should be "outstanding".

So my 7 would be Clym's 10.

I ranked all the movies previously, and none of them ranked lower than a 3 or higher than an 8 on my terms. 8 goes to TWOK. Since I started screenwriting again after five years and am learning how to do it right, I've knocked TMP off the near-top due to its pacing. So, really, I'm just comparing ST XI to TWOK and I don't think the new movie will be as good as TWOK, if it is I'll have to see it to believe it. ST XI can't suprass a 7 on my scale right now.

Given everything above, I rate ST XI a "10".

They retconed E-nil to a battleship with 15 quantum torpedoes and a photonic canon, full cloak and the ability to cruise at warp 17. Something else I loved was the detachment of marines and fighter pilots.

Then, they took care of making V official by putting the bridge where it's always belonged...Deck 78.

I went to see it last week, but I slingshot forward a wee bit too much. I went to the movie theater and asked for a ticket to Star Trek. I took my ticket, bought some popcorn and a soda (I should have realized $22.00 was a bit off), and went into the theater.

The screen opened with familiar Star Trek Music, the fans were cheering obnoxiously. I watched 15 minutes of what looked like a new movie set in the TOS era before it all blinked out and they cut to an aging Captain Riker aboard the Titan fighting.......an assimilated Jem'Hadar that could shapeshift. I was like...Holy Shit! I got up and had to leave, on my way out I looked at the poster for the movie, it said Star Trek XXI: Titan of the Federation.

At this point I realized I went too far into the future. When I went back to my time machine, it didn't work, which took me a week to fix (and around $500 in computer parts). When I went back to December of 2008 and showed up at the same theater to go watch Star Trek XI, I was politely informed that the theater would not be showing it due to public outcry and decided to do a Harry Potter recap marathon instead.

I returned home in disgust, not even having seen the movie I set out to see. So here I am telling my tale.

I was surprised by the Die Hard in a Vacuum trailer. I didn't know they actually were going to make another. Looked cool, but I'm not sold on the John McClaine in space angle yet.

It sucked, and I'm gonna watch it 50 times at the theater so I can use the rest of my free time telling you all how much it sucked and how right I am.

Heh. Well now that we have our Spock, let's start freaking out over Kirk. My heart is set on Carrot Top.

Weird that the rumors about Kirk are so...quiet... :wtf:

I heard that Carrot Top was on the short list to play Picard in the TNG prequel they'll be doing as a follow up to this one.
