Bones- loved him
EMH-Started off liking the EMH but in the end he got on my nerves worse than Neelix did. Picardo was a horrible singer too.
Crusher-Nothing much there.
Bashir-Only DS9 character I didn't like.
Pulaski-Disliked the character immensely.
Phlox-very underused and featured the best actor to play a Trek doctor.
So for me its Bones and Phlox.

Phlox's role as a pioneer in space/interspecies medicine, and having an almost plausible remedy for nearly everything thrown his way, was interesting. The rest, in their way, just seemed to wave a magic wand over the patient. Though Dr. McCoy was both a plausible doctor and a real "character." With the exception of Bashir and McCoy, I just ordered them by personality, likability.
Julian's buddy/buddy episodes with Miles and Garak are some of my favorite DS9 episodes. Otherwise, the Doctors were not usually my favorite characters in any series.

I like all of the doctors, though. It's one of the few professions I think all the shows have had at least an okay character.
Pulaski probably would be further up the list had she lasted longer.
And this is just ranking them by how I liked them. Damned if I'd know medical abilities, these always seemed to conform to dramatic necessity, like being good enough to cure a disease but only by the fifth act, and so on.

Pulaski wasn't like McCoy at all... they just gave her two or three lines early on that made her sound that way. I have a feeling a lot of people tuned out early in season two, and missed all the good stuff, including later Pulaski without any attempt to link her to McCoy.

I started out hating Pulaski, but she got better toward the end of the season. I don't care much for Crusher. All the others I love! Bashir's the cutest though... [/FANGIRLISM].
Seriously though, I think all Doctors except for Crusher and Pulaski were great characters.

Ranking the doctors based on character and whether I'd actually want to be treated by them:
McCoy - my favourite Trek character.
Crusher, EMH, Pulaski - I may be the only fan in existence who likes both Crusher and Pulaski. The EMH is apparently either liked or despised; I'm in the first category.
Phlox - mildly interesting character...but only mildly. Not sure whether I'd want to be treated by this bloke, though.
Bashir - loathsome. Arrogant, self-righteous, condescending. Wouldn't let him anywhere near me if I had any choice in the matter.

(More of a character than that redheaded gal.)

(Funny, interesting and different than the rest.)

(He had the best of all the doctors before him and was the best character on that ship.)

(The worst, non-character. Janice Rand with a medical degree.)
