Rank the Star Wars films

Bull.

Why isn't this mentioned against ESB?
It's a throwaway few seconds in ESB ya it's dumb but change the quick scene for lasers and were fine. Last Jedi has a big long build up where ships and people are getting offed all over the place and it was just alot harder to ignore

So moving highly valuable cargo in a train when you have incredibly fast space ships doesn't seem like a dumb move and a pointlessly bad piece of script
Why use giant slow walkers when you have faster hovercraft?
Star Wars doesn't make logistical sense, it never has.

And as I already said, trains have existed in Star Wars for decades, they were not invented by Solo.

And Rogue One, and all the Star Wars novels, comics and games that existed for decades that had dropping bombs in space.

Forgot about Rogue One. Good point.

I wouldn't be so harsh against it if I felt was this inconsistent application. I get that people don't like the ST, for reasons I don't agree with but understand. But bombs in space is a rather odd line in the sand to me.

I never said invented by Solo and pointing out dumb things about the old movies doesn't make the dumb things in the new ones better

You're describing Star Wars as it has always been.

That's like complaining about Warp Drive in Star Trek.
Ok Solo was last because it was a weak plot telling an irrelevant story. I was just making a throwaway joke about a stupid spacetrain scene

Jeysus it's even grumpier than the Disco threads in here

I've seen those kind of anti-grav trains in other sci-fi franchises besides Star Wars, Firefly being the big one, and I'm pretty sure there others too.

Its been a part of almost every Star Wars game I've played.

Star Wars is the most disappointing thing since my son. There's not much I can say that hasn't been said by either RLM or Cosmonaut or whomever but let me try:

EP I - 3/10 - A princess needing rescue, a corrupt republic, a boy lifted up from slavery, the return of a old evil. Would be a lot better if it was structured differently.
EP II - 5/10 - A galactic civil war breaks out! HOLY HELL! But this movie is such a dud.
EP III - 4/10 - A galactic war ends, a religion is wiped out, a emperor rises, master and apprentice turn on each other. But it can't fill the gaping hole in my heart...or series.

EP IV - 6/10 - A rebellion destroys a galactic superweapon! A hero arises!
EP V - 7/10 - A rebellion hunted, the Empire Strikes back.
EP VI - 5/10 - Watch Han and Leia stand in front of a door for forty minutes. Why haven't they killed off Han??

EP VII - 5/10 - The Force...awakens? Huh.
EP VIII - 3/10 - The Last Jedi! And Rose and a Casino planet and profiteering...? And not hoth.
EP IX - 3/10 - The emperor returns!~ Done better in the EU.

Needs more war in the stars, less spiritualism, less macguffin plots. If this was just some big show about the conflict of a decaying Republic, secession, Space politics looked into more than just a dressing, a religious leech society, a reactionary empire and rebels that fight for something, it might had been more noteworthy.

Some of it is enjoyable. In every movie, there is something enjoyable or noteworthy. But overall I can't recommend Star Wars in any real way other than Ep V, IV. Even VI is eh.

I mean at this rate I'm better off writing this all, eg every movie, as fanfic and see if that fully illustrates or shows what my gripe is with these movies.

1. Empire Strikes Back
2. The Last Jedi
3. A New Hope
4. The Force Awakens
5. Return of the Jedi
6. The Rise of Skywalker
7. Revenge of the Sith
8. Attack of the Clones
9. The Phantom Menace

Rogue One and Solo are their own thing and I don't think it's fair to rate them alongside the main series.

Seek help.

It's just the first line from the RedLetterMedia review of The Phantom Menace, I think.

It's exactly the same. People just use it as a excuse to hate a film that wasn't what they felt they deserved, what being loyal Star Wars fans for years and feeling that the studio had to do as they wished. Or something like that. It was a fine piece of science fantasy stuff in a science fantasy movie. No need to get angry about it.
