Rank the James Cameron movies

1. Terminator. As with so many Directors his best work is also the one he was probably most restrained in making. Taut, scary, exciting, grim, timeless...one of the best time travel films ever made and, though I get slated for saying this sometimes, one of the most romantic films ever made.
2. Titanic. Cheesy yes, but oh so impressive with it. I am biased because the Titanic story has always fascinated me. The film that made me fall in love with Kate W!
3. T2. Bloated and too long, but still very good, even if it does ruin the closed loop time travel plot of the first one.
4. Aliens. Nowhere near as good as Alien, and also nowhere near as good as you remember. The thing that most struck me last time I watched it was just how dated it felt. Very 80s vision of the future. Alien has dated less. Still a great film though and eminantly quaotable. Shame it all went downhill from here on.
5. True Lies. Although I'm not sure. It's been quite a while since I saw it but I remember really liking it.
6. Avatar. I did like it, but again so bloated and long, and is it really improved by 3D?
7. The Abyss. Never been a fan, I think I was expecting T3 or Aliens 2 which might explain this but for whatever reason it just didn't connect with me.
The fact that Kyle fell in love with her picture wondering what she was thinking about and it turns out she was thinking how much she loved him is probably my favourite movie moment of all time. Its absolutely beautful

I haven't yet seen "Avatar" - hopefully, this weekend - so I'd go with:
1) Titanic
2) Terminator
3) Aliens
I really don't think much about the others one way or another.

Regardless of how you stack them, that's a very impressive body of work when you look at it!

This was very difficult. There's not a "bad" or really even a mediocre film amongst them (well, I've never seen Piranha 2), and even the "worst" on that list is better than 80% of the major films available out there. The positions of some of the films could easily be swapped (especially Aliens and T2) depending on my mood at the time. They're all enjoyable and worthy of owning on DVD, especially since the extended editions and deleted scenes of his films are some of the few that actually greatly improve on already good films. It's an impressive body of work.

She'd been naked before then, too. More naked in fact (not that the Titanic scene wasn't appreciated as a follow-up).

I didn't say he was first to do so, I was just happy to see Miss Winslet in such finery... as well as out of.
Here's how I personally rank the films of James Cameron:

Very difficult to rate those...and I have to say somewhat futile since, while a lot of them share common themes, most of them are very different animals from the others.
I have to admit to having an especially soft spot for Abyss (special edition, of course!) which often tends to get the rough end of the stick. Titanic...I honestly don't have a strong opinion one way or another. It was a good enough film and certainly deserved what it got...I just wish that around the time it was release I didn't have to hear that bloody song played every five seconds for months on end!

(Linda Hamilton buff, Robert Patrick spot-on, Ahnold saying "No Problemo". Pure gold.)

("He won't eat, He won't sleep and he absolutely will not stop until you are dead!" First saw it in theaters, never forgot it or fell out of love with it.)
3. Aliens
("Get away from her you bitch!" One of Sigourney's cinematic triumphs.)
4. True Lies
(The greatest funny spy movie ever!)
5. Avatar
(At five only because I see more of other movies in it (Return of the Jedi, Aliens, Titanic) than I see of anything original.)
6. The Abyss
(Somewhat boring, but it least it was science fiction.)
7. Titanic
(Other than the fact that only infants and the brain dead don't know how it ends, it's a typical Romeo and Juliet rehash. Hate the original, hate all the rehashes...except for West Side Story. At least that has good music.)
