Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Suing doesn't mean you're right. :)

Read some history that wasn't approved by Fox News. Racism and sexism have been built into our national infrastructure since the beginning. Cis white men are still the "default" in hiring and admissions. We have a long way to go.
I don't read Fox News and I'm familiar with American history. The problem with DEI is that it's focused on "compensating for centuries of systemic racism and sexism" instead of dealing with the world as it is today where people are mostly treated equally. If there is a hiring bias toward white men (and I'm not convinced there is), it can't be solved by swinging the pendulum in the other direction. An individual white man trying to get a job is not responsible for any perceived injustices and doesn't deserve to be discriminated against.
I went to a very multicultural primary school where there were children from all over the world, everyone was treated equally and nobody talked about race. Those are the values I grew up with and that's why I'm against DEI.

the world as it is today where people are mostly treated equally.

If only this were true.

I don't really want to spend my entire evening digging up counterexamples for you, but here's at least one example from a recent posting discussing a 2023 study:

I went to a very multicultural primary school where there were children from all over the world, everyone was treated equally and nobody talked about race.

"I didn't see discrimination in primary school, therefore it must not exist" is certainly a take.

I was just thinking that this bloody war with Iran has ironically pushed the world farther towards Net Zero in destroying oil production than Al Gore could have done through registration...shoving gas prices than Greta's grousing.

Mark Kelly is likely thinking about a Presidential run, but has been flailing.

Here though, he can say that if Americans can afford billions of dollars in gas price hikes n this oil war that makes gas less plentiful--we can afford to fund space solar power that can only have the effect of making oil CHEAPER from having to burn less of it.

The last episode of SNW should be retro...having a Fed president Vought cut back on Starfleet...the more Spartan TOS look a result of cost-cutting, the TOS Enterprise passing by the President Kelly powersat number 1966.
