Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Christmas has been good to me so far.

I ordered a 20 oz. bottle of Mr. Pibb to be delivered from Wal-Mart. I was given a two LITER bottle instead!

Oh, and my mother wanted to give a fruitcake that I had ordered and paid for to the neighbors! :scream: (Me: "Get another one!")

Been watching Ottawa City Council debate the budget for next year. Going on eight hours as of this posting...

My two weeks notice got approved, next week I'll go to work to hand in my work shoes, badge and key from my locker.

I already have two things to take care of for next year: my internship and my volunteer work, so there will be no resting on my laurels
Normally this is not a cause of celebration, but in my case it is. I got fired!:beer::beer:  Bye felicia!

Had a customer in the store, late teenager or early twenties and the entire conversation he kept replying "Yes sir", "No sir".
While that is polite, I kept thinking to myself, "I'm not a 'Sir'. When did I become old enough to be a 'Sir'."

"Sir" is not a title that stems from age. It's used as a courtesy, to show respect. Age has nothing to do with it. You may address a 14 year old boy or an 80 year old man as "sir."

I hate being called ma'am so much!

I visited Québec a few years back, so of course I was getting madame or Madame <LastName>.

Sure, I guess it's a bit sad I'm too old for mademoiselle, and I know that it's just the French equivalent to "ma'am" or "Mrs. <LastName>", but to my English-oriented brain, it just sounded so classy. :D

There's a special kind of ugliness in character design that can only be achieved by trying and failing to re-imagine what is cute or beautiful.

FedEx package arrived four hours earlier than the ETA they gave, which is good that I got it early, but bad if I hadn't been home.
