Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Hubby is feeling very smug this morning. The IT staff for their department is just him and his boss, and all year long, the University administration have been trying to get them to move EVERYTHING to AWS. Hubby & his boss kept saying NO.

I guess they won't have to have that discussion again

Computers were down all morning.
Couldn't go to the parts catalog to look up and order parts.
Now have a backlog of work that needs to be done before 5pm and we're scrambling.
Every fucking time.

I think it was here or on the mental health threat that wrote something like this about a year ago: "I am alone, and I feel so lonely. I have no one to come home to or who's waiting for me except my cat."

And about a year later I feel the same, and it gives me the feeling that I made no progress at all mentally and I'm right where I started. Because these thoughts got me in a psychiatry last year, but with my studies I can't afford a stay in the psychiatry now. Thank goodness I can spend the school holiday next week with my grandparents, I need the company

People don't care/aren't interested in politics, or don’t vote. I get it, our politicians never solved problems like affordable homes, poverty, homelessness etc. But look our current government: unemployment benefits cut after two years, late shift benefits cuts in hours, adult school fees higher etc. And the fact that we have that kind of government is the fault of people like that we could have had a different kind of government but nooooo smh

OR people who vote for the right wing parties and think they are going to help us. My mom voted for these fuckers because she felt like the other parties became worthless, she regrets it now. And I'm sure there are more like her. I just wish there were more old school politicians, back then they actually talked to each other and were more willing to compromise. Now I feel they've become children who refuse to make compromises because they don't like to rule with other parties

That's because they can't do it completely. Poverty and homelessness are sometimes the result of unregulated capitalism (allowing the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer). But sometimes, they're the results of people's bad choices. And as someone who's made plenty of bad choices himself, you can't really legislate that away.

The problem with a two-party system is the lack of redundancy. One party got infected by a cult. The other was too ineffectual to put that cult down. And there's no third option available.

I'm no expert on European politics, but Google tells me that Fantasy Lover's country is nowhere near a two-party system.
