Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I sometimes wonder if typing is becoming a lost skill, because my coworkers and customers are always amazed at how quickly I can type up a work order without having to look at the keyboard.
I took typing in high school and I could get up to 80 WPM.
A computer keyboard is no different than a typewriter keyboard; it's fingers on the 'Home' keys and muscle memory.

I learned touch-typing in seventh grade using a manual typewriter (yep, I'm that old). I'm not a fast typist -- I can manage 50 wpm on a good day -- but that's more than adequate for my work.

Frankly, I'm not the least bit nostalgic for typewriters. I hated those clunky, messy machines. I knew something better would have to come along someday.

Just about everyone in my class types with just their two index fingers. It's horrifying.
