Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

OK Amazon just emailed me

"We're very sorry that your delivery is so late. Although it may still arrive, you can request a refund now."

So obviously some kind of snafu has happened, but now I'm again having the bad thoughts

haha true......... I decided in the end to ignore the email. If after a couple of weeks or a month it's still asking me this I will chase it up. So fucking weird because I told them I got the item

I just read Jammer's 30th anniversary post and started thinking about the early days of these forums and when I was a new member. I can't believe I've been here 22 years (It was more like 22 and a half as I was here November of 2022) and ST Hypertext was linked here at the time. I feel like Time has kind of just stopped after 2020 too. It hasn't felt like 5 years since the onset of Covid. Maybe with everything happening at breakneck speed there hasn't been time to stop and smell the roses, but time really has just flown by.

Clocks go forward tonight, why don't they just leave them forward, or give us double British summertime.

Here's another example of how dumb Daylight Saving is. If the goal is to save daylight, wouldn't all countries do it somewhat at the same time? UK has theirs tomorrow but i had to switch clocks at the beginning of the month. Nothing about this makes sense to me but I appreciate it doesn't get dark til like 8:00.

I went into the hospital on Thursday and got the sonic blast treatment to get rid of my kidney stone, and it mostly worked, there are still a fragments left that I'm passing now. We were nervous going in because I started feeling sick on Wed. and at one had a 100.8 fever, but luckily they still did it. We weren't sure if it's flu, cold, or an infection from my nephrostomy tube. Apparently, it's inevitable that if you have nephrostomy tube, you will get infections. And apprently they did a test after the sonic blast, and weren't with how things were flowing, so I'm still stuck with the tube until at least the 8th. They also gave antibotics and a pills to make me pee better so I can pass the stone fragments and one or both of them are making really sick. When I got up yesterday morning I was so dizzy, I could barely walk and fell down, I was nauseaus all and threw up a little in the morning and more that night as I was getting ready for bed. The only good thing is when I puked last night I puked up the pills, so I'm feeling a little better today.

Time is absolute.
Don't tell that to Albert Einstein. :p

You don't get to choose what time it is. If it means it's dark in the morning, then shut the fuck up and deal with it.
How we measure time is a purely cultural convention, invented by us humans. Therefore we do get to choose what time it is. Except that it's best if we can all agree on what time it is.

Richard Chamberlain has passed away at the age of 90. I don't think I've seen anything he's been in, but I do remember back when network TV movies and miniseries were a big deal I'd see ads for his shows all the time. He was also the first actor to play Jason Bourne.

I don't think DST should exist. Just leave it as one set time and forget about it. I don't care if its dark in the morning.

I hate DST and I think it should be banned.

Oh, absolutely. it is the same logic as cutting the bottom of a blanket and sewi ng it back on at the top and calling it a "longer" blanket.
I think Daylight Saving Time started before we had artificial lighting and when a lot more people worked on fields and farms so they'd have more daylight to work, but it's so outdated now that it's really pretty pointless.
I think my bod must have adjusted to the pills, I took all of my doses and I'm feeling better than Friday. Still not great, but I haven't fallen down, or puked, and I've been able to sit up right and even shopping and on a short dog walk. Considering the fact that I couldn't get off the couch or out of bed with puking or falling on my ass on Friday that's a major improvement.

it's supposedly about schools too, but when I was a kid I walked to school, now even in our small village the roads round the school are congested with parents dropping off their kids.

I'd rather it be light in the evenings myself although do admit it was back to being dark this morning when had to drag myself out of bed to hit the gym, which I find harder.
