Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

LG televisions are showing ads during the screen saver now. They're on by default but you can turn them off.
Is there still something were we don't have to get ads for? One reason why I use Apple TV still. That, and the interface is really nice. I am starting to realize how limited it can be though, and I wish it wasn't.

Yeah, sure, movies like Armageddon are as mainstream as mainstream can get. They are the very personification of "America, FUCK YEAH!"

But this doesn't mean we can't still enjoy those films, does it? Isn't there still a place in our cultural zeitgeist for movies that are just FUN?

We are still allowed to have fun, aren't we? Not everything has to be so damned serious. There's still a place for shows where we can basically just turn off our brains and HAVE A GOOD TIME.

I mean, if you don't like movies like this, you don't have to....just don't shit the bed for the rest of us. That's fair, innit?

I love a good movie like this, independence day another example.

Good fun but doesn't tax the brain cells.

Daytime soap opera mainstay Drake Hogestyn has passed away at the age of 70 from pancreatic cancer, one day before his 71st birthday. He appeared in over 4,200 episodes of Days of Our Lives since 1986.

Much amused by the local newspaper website telling me that the Met Office* has predicted a more than 95% certainty of weather in my area.

I can confirm that they are 100% correct that we are having weather.

Edit to remove superfluous "are"

I have hit the point in my life that commenting on politics is a fool's errand. People don't want to listen or hear for the most part. And, more concerning to me, is that a lot of power is ceeded to politicians in people's minds whether they actually will impact people or not.

Ultimately, I can only control what I can and try very hard not to worry over what I can't.

Of course, I'm a total hypocrite because I really wish I could change past stupid me.

Last night a my neighbour from a doors away knocked on my door to ask me to borrow my cell phone. She was hit by her partner and wanted to call the police, I gave my phone and she called the police. She called the police, they came to gather het statement and threw her partner in the cell for a day. Her partner is back home now, I hope she's safe but I doubt it

Smoking has been banned on commercial airline flights for a fair whack of time. Everybody knows that.

So why do planes still have 'no smoking' lights?
