Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

It seems like everybody weather has been out of whack lately, we've actually been fairly warm so far this winter.

Vacuumed and/or mopped every room in the house. It's raining like hell today, so it seemed like a good day to stay home and do chores.

I like watches. I collected a few years ago. Not for quite awhile now. Since my Fitbit died I've been wearing them again. But since I moved I cannot find a couple of my preferred everyday wear watches. They must have ended up in a random box somewhere.

I think I'm gonna like being a Liverpool FC fan.

I have been looking for something to watch while there's no baseball on, and - thanks to Peacock - I stumbled across the Premier League. I am really enjoying this! I don't understand anything the announcers are actually saying but I do enjoy watching the matches.

And the reason I picked Liverpool FC is because I have two nephews who grew up in London and are huge Liverpool fans. (I'm NOT jumping on the bandwagon just because Liverpool has such a good record. I'm just going with whatever team my nephews follow.)

I get that but it's become so popular yet people still complain after buying
That's what people do. If they are satisfied they won't comment. If it's not exactly what they thought (common with online purchases) then it's easier to complain.

It's the same attitude as why Trekkies watch series after series even though they don't like it, why people would still buy Nike at thr retailer I worked for even though we told them every time Nike was excluded from coupons. People love to complain and love to think they'll be the exception to bad experiences.

I'm living alone at home and almost two months since mum passed and I've started to get into my own routine now.

There are moments when I'll be doing something like sitting in the sofa by the window and look at the other sofa then my mind wanders and I imagine mum sitting there again. It's getting easier though now.

This made my day

I was wondering and musing about the afterlife. What do people do to spend the time there?

I'm still getting over mums death back in the last week of November and I have these weird thoughts every now and then, I wonder what she's doing in the afterlife, does she still watch her favorite soaps, do cooking and all the stuff she used to like doing. The soap one happened because I was channel surfing on TV and caught one of her regular ones and then sat for a few minutes and watched.

I do wonder though when I go what I'll be getting up to as well. Well there be lego in heaven?

My wife and I will regularly debate around this, and as someone who enjoys studying religion and culture, I think current pop culture ideas of heaven or an afterlife are rather dull, perhaps reflecting a worry that we won't get to do the stuff we like. Or, more extreme, like the ancient Egyptians, we will continue to serve like in the current life.

I can't find the poem right now, and it's driving me nuts to not, but the idea was that in an afterlife there is a transformation of human relationship, and interaction with the divine. That if there is a creator we get to join in with that creation activity and help in creation of various things. To my mind, that idea is far more appealing than sitting on a cloud.

I like that as well.

I'd like to think we can move around maybe even travel who knows? Maybe explore the universe.

Also would we lose our memories of our life on Earth?
