Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I feel both excited and pissed off right now. Because I just had the idea of how cool it would be to have Huey Lewis and the News' "Back in Time" playing when we change the clocks back for Daylight Saving Time. And I'm pissed off because now I not only have to wait for Spring to actually do it, but I have to remember it till then.

Hallmark channel is known for Christmas movies.

They don't already?
Occasionally, but the main channel mostly shows sitcoms like Reba, Fraisier, and Golden Girls, then they have Hallmark Drama that shows stuff like Little House on the Prairie, The Walton, and Highway to Heaven, and Mysteries and Movies, which shows a combination of older mystery shows like Diagnosis Murder and Murder, She Wrote and their own original mystery movie series like The Aurora Teagarden, and Murder, She Baked/Hannah Swensen series.
I've watched a few of their mystery movies, and they're actually pretty good.

You should wait the full year, it would be more appropriate for when the clocks move back an hour in the fall, rather than ahead an hour in the spring! :)

It has a paywall.

Oh, that’s disappointing, sorry about that! It didn’t seem to have one when I was on my computer last night, but I’m on mobile now, and it’s definitely blocking me now. :(

Too bad too, it was a good article. Well, if you’re a night owl like me. If you’re a morning person, you probably wouldn’t appreciate it as much! :D

Even the Bible notes how to treat people in the morning: Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing.
Provers 27:14.
I remember when it was all the rage to get up at 4a each morning. Thank god the pandemic killed off that fad.

Age is, after all, just a number. It is one of the reasons that I do not like celebrating my birthday. It's arbitrary and too much meaning put on this one day.

Instead, my question to those who struggle with aging (age doesn't matter) is what do you value and how can you invest more time in to that?

I'm almost 40. If you had told me at 20 that I would be building a house all by myself, from the ground up, I would have laughed in your face. But, I have learned a lot of skills, built a lot of connections, developed better attitude towards work and craftmanship, and improving my overall sense of independence.

It's not the time, but the values and connections you put in.

Thank you. I needed to read that today.

Some of my personal weirdness around age is that I truly don't know where the time went. Depression "robbed" me of presence and enjoyment in many ways. Another is straight vanity - I've never been good-looking, but it's just strange sometimes to see my face change.

The worst is the fear. Fear of failing health and faculties - my aunt and grandmother both had dementia. But I'm doing what I can to make my mental and physical health better. My biggest fear though is of ending up alone. My mother-in-law has outlived so many friends and family members, it's scary to think about.
