Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Is North Korea effectively a socialist kingdom with a monarch?

The position of "first citizen" is hereditary after all.

I almost always still keep a shelf or some shelf type furniture nearby, for accessories, even when it's a wall mount tv
When my wife and I moved into our current house, we spent a little on our office, trying to go with more than we needed at the time as to future-proof our purchase. All matching units, we have 4' desk for me, a 6' desk for her, and a corner desk with hutch in between for the shared peripherals (so an L-shaped setup along two walls of the small bedroom).
The only gotcha was that we had the furniture in place before I realized I needed to cut some holes in the kickboards for plugs and jacks. That would have been easier to do in the garage before we assembled everything.
As for the TV hookup, I think that they make decorative raceways for the cabling if you don't want to get inside the walls.

Anyone have a kitchen compost bin? This looked like the best one to get for odor control and I even placed an order. However, it's open at the bottom, meaning if the bag breaks you have a spill. So I canceled the order.

Had a weird and kind of creepy incident during my bike ride this morning. While I was stopped to visit with some the horses, a dark green SUV just randomly stopped in the middle of the street right behind me. After he stopped, I went back to my bike, and made a point walking slowly past the truck and looking right at him, thinking maybe he was going to roll down his window to say something but he never did, and he just took off after I got back over to my bike. At first I thought maybe he was from the stables, but I can see the entrances from where I'm standing and I didn't notice anybody leaving before he drove by and I watched him leave and he drove right past the second entrance without stopping.
If he stopped because he was worried about what I was doing with the horses, I wish he had said something, because I would have been happy to talk to him.
The fact that he was so obvious about stopping, but then didn't say or do anything to give me some idea why, just kind of freaked me out to be honest.

Kim Jung Un did have his brother assassinated in Malaysia, but he wasn't supposed to take over.

I don't use facebook much anymore except for keeping contact with people I shoot with, that's shooting with a camera by the way, anyway it's amusing to see "people you may know" and why do so many people have terrible profile photos with filters, or photos taken in front of mirrors or a in front of a bathroom mirror?

Because it's easy.

What's something nice to put on display on the shelf that I don't have to worry about getting knocked off and destroyed by the pets? Would it be limited to stuffed toys?

Books, a heavy-ish figurine, a plant with a heavy pot.

Even better, find another area and sprinkle cat nip all around, and put toys and cat beds over there, away from your bookshelf.

There's something to be said about Zachary Levi talking about how often the trailers look good but the movies turn out to be garbage considering his last movie was Shazam 2. It's like Dave Bautista ripping on the Fast & Furious movies while appearing in the cheap, crappy Escape Plan sequels for a quick paycheck.

I know its easy but the filters, or should I say over use of them.
It reminds me of the old Myspace days and the efforts for everyone to "have a website." Now, granted I am old enough to recall thinking that I and my friends having our own email or cell phone was nearly an impossible dream, so this colors my perception a bit. But, one of the aspects of Myspace that appealed to less sophisticated people, like myself, is that you could "program" different themes and add that twist to it that you wanted to personalize it. Filters are now much the same way that people can try out a lot of different ideas to personalize it without really having the photography or editorial mindset to capture it.
