Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Yesterday I was at work and walked from the warehouse into the store to get something from electrical department and I did like a double take when I saw "Star Trek: Of Gods and Men" playing on one of the big 65" or 75" TVs. An (whose name rhymes with Han, so I call him Solo) said he was just showing some customer a sound bar and so went to Youtube and that was the first thing he randomly selected. It was a bit weird!

I was taking a load of my late husband's clothes to donate to the Salvation Army and on the way I turned on the radio to the 60s station. It was playing the Supremes "My World is Empty Without You" so I turned it off as it was too painful. After10 minutes or so I turned the radio back on and it was playing 3 Dog Night "One is the Loneliest Number". So turned it off again. The Universe is messing with me.

Dear Women of America: welcome to 50 years ago. Your physical and emotional well-being is controlled by the government, but a man can amass as many AR-15s as he likes.
i think clarence forgot to mention loving vs virginia in his rant about what else to overturn

Well, we also insist on using the old English measurements, when the rest of the planet uses metric.

In the great family of nations, we're definitely among the black sheep.
and crash a lander on mars in the process

The guy who wants a bunch of AR's typically wants to be able to arm himself and all his friends when the government takes over and establishes a police state. Which he is convinced is going to happen, especially if the Second Amendment is taken away*. The guy who just wants a bunch of magazines is another story.

*Highly unlikely.

I know Star Wars and Star Trek fans go way overboard with the nitpicking, continuity porn and getting hung up on minutia, but how do soap opera viewers deal with a show where literally everything they see on the show can be ignored or retconned on a whim? Character is in an accident, has a lengthy farewell monologue to his loved one, dies and is an organ donor, still returns from the dead with no real explanation. Short, quirky character played by a charismatic actor is recast with a tall actor who has muscles but no range, doesn't matter how much you say it's the same character, it's not.
