Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Does anyone watch The Endgame? How short of an attention span do they think TV viewers have? In the last episode, a main character gifts a ring to a guest character in a flashback. Then in the present they show someone wearing that ring -- cut to showing that scene again where the ring was gifted -- then they reveal the face of the person wearing the ring and it's the same woman. Nothing's changed in the 10 minutes since you last saw her. You can tell it's the same person. What purpose did the flashback of the flashback serve?

  • filling time left over by a shitty script
  • grab a beer from the fridge
  • explain to your demented grandma that happened in the previous episode
  • shout at your kids to shut up
need i go on?

My main address for something like 20 years is a hotmail account. I use it through my Windows Mail or Outlook (the Office version) not online. Deleting is no problem. Also deletes fine through my phone.

I'd say check your browser settings, but I'm not sure what setting could be causing that one thing.

The problem went away a few minutes later so I could use the delete button again. Have no idea what was going on.

I remember an old joke that was once common: What're most babies first words? "Attention, Kmart shoppers..."

:guffaw: :guffaw:

Here's one of my favorite old jokes:

IN HEAVEN:
The English are the cops
The French are the cooks
The Italians are the lovers
The Germans organize everything

IN HELL:
The French are the cops
The English are the cooks
The Germans are the lovers
The Italians organize everything

:D

There are a number of variations. I like the one where in heaven the Germans are the mechanics and in hell the Germans are the police whereas the French are the mechanics.

I watch The Endgame, but I'm one or two episodes behind, so I haven't seen that scene yet.

Almost got myself in some trouble on my bike ride today. I take a break a break in a church parking lot by some stables so I can watch the horses, but it turned out there was some kind of day care or something at the church, and while I was stopped some lady asked me what I was doing.I understand why she did, and if I had known something like that was going on I never would have stopped there, but I didn't notice it until I was already leaving.
You should have said this.

I want to be a registered escort in Amsterdam. I think we all should.

Do you actually have to go to Amsterdam to register? I just want to put it on my resume.
i wouldn't know as i'm in berlin and never even visited amsterdam let alone researched that question in any capacity

Anybody know around how much a ride share app or taxi service would charge for a 16 mile ride? I was looking at some of their sites, but I couldn't find any kind of pricing anywhere without setting up a ride, which I don't want to do.

It varies from city to city. You could find out more easily on Reddit/uber/arizona. (Or whatever rideshare and whatever city.) Rates here are different in, say, Toronto or Ottawa. There's a subreddit for just about anything you can imagine. Keep in mind it may also vary according to time of day, area of the city, and traffic.

I would just sign up, order a ride, and cancel once you see the price.

The major services each have a ride cost calculator available that you can use to get an estimate that won't require you to book a ride.

https://www.uber.com/global/en/price-estimate/

https://www.lyft.com/rider/fare-estimate

I was able to use both of these to get estimates for a trip between two random addresses in Phoenix (which I picked off Google Maps), and I didn't have to book anything, or even log in.
