Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

My friend Adam died a week ago. This is the only picture of us I can find. Halloween 1991.

Omg my condolences. You too look great together there.

The closest thing we have to a real time machine is a mirror, that's right a mirror.
The light you see when you look at a mirror took a very small fraction of time to reach the retinas in your eyes so technically you were seeing something in the past.

For a bigger example the Sun, the same Sun you see in the sky. The light takes 8 minutes to reach Earth so when we see the Sun we're seeing it as it was 8 minutes ago.

Cool hey?

Thank you. That's very cool. :luvlove:

Sometimes I see my old friends in Dreams :) & it can also be sad because when I wake up they ain't there.
Yeah, I dreamed about him that morning, just before waking.

The radio personality of one of the local radio stations has been talking about the anniversary of 9/11 his entire shift. Listeners have been calling in to tell their stories, but time is money so they're recorded off air and then played over the song ramp (instrumental at the beginning leading up to the lyrics) and there's a weird disconnect with someone recalling a horrible event over upbeat music.

If you take that the extreme then you get the giant space telescopes that are literally looking back thousands or millions of years in the past when they are looking at other galaxies, or other things at those kinds of distanes.

"Which of those two is 'now'?"

That's true.

So if a ship was one light year from Earth anything they observe is a year old, in face even out near Jupiter anything you see on Earth is in the past. Relativity is fucking fascinating.

While watching Criminal Minds I find out in behind the scenes stuff online that JJ did love Reid but couldn't do anything about it because she had a family. WTF?

If anything I wanted Reid and Prentiss to hook up......

Had a nice birthday today. We went to the Museum of Fine Art and climbed all over the Ernesto Neto "environmental" sculpture. It was a lot of fun, Then we looked at the American Arts & Crafts exhibit and the new modern exhibit. We stopped at our favorite pizza place and also went to our favorite bakery -- we hardly ever get to either place because we don't go into the city much anymore. So our dinner tonight was awesome. We then watched two episodes of The Mandalorian.

A pretty nice day.

Out driving today, and a light was yellow that I decided to run. Should've stopped but I didn't, so I ran a yellow/mostly red light. Then I notice a vehicle about 20 feet behind me who definitely ran the red.

Later on, the right lane is slow because everyone is getting off the freeway. A car two lanes over speeds past everyone and then just forces his way onto the off ramp, causing everyone to slam their brakes.
