What do all people who equivocate being a bigot and being a little overzealous in their denouncing of bigots have in common?

They make absurd self serving comparisons between two problems of incredibly different magnitude.

Self serving? No. I've never been personally harmed in any way by the trends in our society. That doesn't mean I can't sympathize with those who have. And since we have two problems, why not deal with both of them?

People who are bigots have, for centuries, prevented people from having even basic happiness and opportunity and threatened their very lives.

People who overzealously fight against this inconvenience the careers of a few people who otherwise have good lives.

We have two problems. Global warming and unfair speeding tickets. We should deal with both of them, but if you're comparing the two to each other, you clearly have an agenda to excuse global warming.
