Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

My mom is better at this kind of thing than I am, so the next few times she has a day off I'm gonna have her come with me and see if we can hear it, and if she recognizes it.

Hopefully that goes OK. I know on my days off, I don't even want to *see* 6:15 am!!

isn't he carying a double barelled most of the time?

I know you're joking, but I think it's pretty safe to say @JD will not be shooting anything.

Definitely not. lt's coming from a neighborhood so I'm pretty sure it's someone's pet, or farm animal. Out here there are a lot of neighborhoods where some of the houses have enough land for horses and things like that, and there's one right across the street from my neighborhood.
I'm actually jealous of the people that live over there, because all of the houses in ours are squeezed together with small backyards.

I knew they were popular, but I didn't realize they were that popular.

Just wanted to add one more point to this, I am a huge animal person, and I can't stand hunting, unless it is absolutely needed to survive. Hell, I felt guilty the first few times I had to go hunting to get supplies when first started playing the Far Cry and later Assassin's Creed games. I've done it enough now that I'm not bothered by it, but the thought of real hunting still disgusts me.
The scary part of this conversation is that there actually was a person going around seemingly randomly killing people's horses earlier this year. I don't know if anybody ever figured out what the hell was going on there.

Have you ever accidentally typed in TrekBS in the address bar instead of TrekBBS? I have.

That's why I always go through Bing, Google, or Yahoo, when I go to a new site. That way I don't have to worry about a mistake like that taking to some strange site I don't want to be on. I then bookmark if it's somewhere I'm going to want to go back to.

So I decided to go ride my bike through the area where the sounds is coming, and it was nice ride, but I didn't see or hear anything that explained it. I did see one unexpected thing.... someone had Longhorn tied up in their back yard.
EDIT: I think I almost might have had a chance to make a new 4 legged friend during my ride. There's a house with horses right at the edge of the neighborhood I was riding through, and I noticed as I went by that the wall was fairly short, so I snuck over to see what was back there. There was a horse right by the wall, and I startled it when I first stopped, but then it was just staring at me. I was tempted to get up to the wall and see if it would come closer, but since I don't know the horse or the people it belongs to, it didn't feel right.

Take some carrots next time to make a friend, turn your hand back-wards as to not appear a threat--this works w/ dogs to, minus the carrots, but I would never recommend trying to saddle her/ him up. I have been bucked off of horses... and bitten by....

Or you will be in for a wild-ride.

I'll keep that in mind, but like I said before, I'd feel a little weird interacting with a stranger's horse like that. Honestly, I felt a little guilty just going and looking over the wall.
As for saddling, even if I was crazy enough to try that, there's a shoulder high wall and I'm not about to jump that.
If I go past again and see the person or people who live there, I might be tempted to ask if they'd be OK with me saying hi to their horses when I rode my bike past their house.

I had an unrelated random thought the other day. If you think about it, it's kind of weird how attached you can get to fictional characters. You know they aren't real, but yet they still almost star to feel like friends after a while. I even feel that way about book characters at times, and they are even more separated from reality than TV or movie characters.

The heck year is it? Beatles? Bee Gees?
Talking about a time warp- K-Pop invaded the world about 2000 and has only been gaining steam.

What does the year matter? According to Billboard, only five musical groups have ever sat at the number one and two spots of the US top 100 singles chart at the same time. The five listed (including BTS) are those five musical groups.

It was a joke, referring to the British Invasion of the 1960s.

OK, so I have another update on The Sound. I hear it two or three times on my walk, so I can describe it now. It's kind of a fast paced, high pitched, hyut-hyut hyut-hyut.

The Battle of Hastings took place 954 years ago today, dramatically changing the course of English history.

Oh, one other thing about The Sound I realized this morning, is a lot of the times when I'm hearing it, it's in the middle of a bunch of dogs barking. It's not a dog though, I've had dogs my whole life and I'm very familiar with all of the sounds they make.

I went to vote today. I arrived about 11:50 am. I got back in my car at 1:55 pm. And over an hour was spent out in the sun. My pale ass burned to a crisp. 2 damn hours to vote.

And don't get me started on the douche bag behind me who wouldn't wear a mask and kept getting WAY too fucking close.

And then, minutes after getting home, I see I missed a call from the vet. Junior has a dental cleaning & check up tomorrow. They asked me if I could rush over and get his bloodwork done in advance. I live really close to them so I agree. I grab the kitty and zip over there. They take him while I wait in the car. So now I finally get to sit down, but I still have several chores to do.

Fuck, I'm tired.
