Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

It stung for like two hours, then it itched for another two hours. And it went along lines. So it was most likely a regular jellyfish.

hope you’re feeling better and recovered.
Was upset to see a whole bunch of balloons on the beach in Fla; thought they were litter. A nice 12 yr old park ranger warned us they were Jellies and very stingey. Do. Not. Want.

I dreamed about cake last night which reminded me of the Bridal Fair I went to with Second Daughter. They had LOTS of sliced cake for us to sample. It was pure heaven! of course this was before diabetes ruined my life.

Read something, preferably something that you know already, or only have mild interest in. The reading focuses your mind and avoids drifting thoughts to occupy you, but it's not exciting you all too much. The same can be accomplished by watching something that's nice but not too demanding (again, old movie or non-demanding comedy) or listening to audio drama. It's why we tell bedtime stories to our children, and why we've read in bed for ages.

In a related note, reading is actually good for your health. It reduces stress, and brings down blood pressure and heart rate. There's a study from 2009 that showed six minutes of reading will slow down your heart rate. So, go on, read something.

What do you do when you can't fall asleep? I'm wide awake.

A hot shower, clean jammies, and curl up in bed with a book. I usually turn the ceiling fan on low, so I have a slight breeze on my face. I've always found that really relaxing. When my insomnia was at its worst, a doctor recommended soaking my hands in hot water for a few minutes before bed.

I bought an Amazon brand smart plug for $25 that was supposed to give me $24 credit (with an expiration date) for purchasing and activating it within a certain time frame. I never got the credit so I contacted Amazon support. The customer service rep didn't give me the $24 credit, but he did refund me the entire thing even though he seemed to know about the deal I was referring to. So that was strange. Not sure how I should feel about that. Not that Amazon will miss the $1, but it's still weird.

I find them pretty damn good. They once refunded me the shipping on a DVD set I bought which was shipped from the USA, and also sent out a replacement for the one I had, the case was damaged during shipping, normally you'd have to send back the original but because I am outside of the USA they said I can dispose of that however I see fit.

Why are ice cream vans still a thing? Seems that they could be quite dangerous in this day and age.

And no, I'm not just talkiing about covid-19...

I've one of those annoying little things that's been bugging me. Last week while I was out walking one of my dogs, I heard some kind of weird animal sound off in the distance that I couldn't identify. It sounds crazy, but the closest thing I could think of was a Zebra, but I can't imagine there being one around here. Our area is fairly urban, but the neighborhood across a street from does have a bunch of horse properties in it, and driving by I've seen at least one house with a whole bunch of horses in the back, so there are definitely equines around. When I mentioned it to my mom she thought it could have been a mule or donkey. Either way, I'm pretty sure it was equine, but it wasn't a regular horse sound.
I've been trying to listen on my dog walks each morning since then, and so far I've only heard it one more time, but it was to far off in the distance to hear it clearly that time.

Amd. as I said, they can be very dangerous. Who knows what kind of psycho might be behind the wheel, or what they could be giving to unsuspecting kids?

Bit paranoid there aren't we?

I haven't seen one of those for years, and years, they're not common here at all. The thing that puts me off them isn't fear but wondering how long the stuff has been sitting in the van and if it's still fresh.

We do have HOME ICE CREAM here in Australia and that's pretty good. They come around usually every fortnight mainly in the warmer weather and you buy prepackaged ice creams of many kinds from the menu on the side of the truck, they often do letterbox drops of their catalogs so you know what you can buy.

I have to confess, that thought has crossed my mind a few time when I've seen them going through my neighborhood.

i downloaded Blender yesterday, so today i'm going to continue staring at that grey cube....
