On Sunday we found a squirrel by our house that had been hit by a car. We are lucky to have a wild animal recuse place not too far from our home. We put him in the box and drove him there. We named him Buddy. But I don't think he will make it. He had a head injury and had internal injuries they said. We find out in a few days if he made it. I am just glad he won't die alone on the side of the road. I like our squirrels used to name them. Not so much now. But so sad to see one hurt or any animal. So lucky to have been able to do something!

Just got back from the store doing some end of Christmas shopping. I think sometimes with all the sales maybe we should wait until after Christmas to get our gifts. Except sometimes they are out of things. Still it is pretty cool.
Finally had the family late-Christmas dinner. I did most of the cooking. So tired. My neck is killing me. Hubby decided to go home early -- tomorrow rather than Sunday--so I will spend tomorrow driving my Mom & sister around the area, so they can see Fredericksburg, which is about an hour away.

It’s a lovely town with German restaurants and shops, good wine and beer in the Hill Country, west of Austin.

Come to think of it, in the 1980s I had access to both towns of Fredericksburg (but didn't visit, of course). In 1986 I was at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia for AIT. After that, until 1989 I was stationed at Ft. Hood.

My Dad was stationed at Ft. Hood in the early 50's and deployed from there to "participate" in some of the atomic bomb tests near Las Vegas.
