Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

that sucks :( I hope you're a quick healer.
I am frustrated. I have been re-watching all 5 seasons of B5. And I found out the disc 3 from my season 1 set does not work. Don't know why. It looks totally fine! Awww....
please specify the nature of the emergency ;) What exactly does happen when you try playing it? If it gets stuck at a certain point and the image falls apart into squares (like huge pixels), there is a chance:
If you huff on it you will see that the surface is not covered in moisture evenly but there will be streaks or cloud-like patterns on the surface. Polish the disk with a soft cloth and huff on it again. Repeat until there are no streaks anymore.
In the meantime, use a cleaning disc to clean your DVD player. Old discs often leave traces of dust on the reading head which can cause problems.
After you've cleaned both disk and player, try again. In about 2/3 of the cases the DVD will play again. If it got better but there is still a problem, you can repeat the process. Sometimes that works.

Hurricane Dorian is moving out to sea now, but we still have gusts of wind (around 39 mph) from the outer bands of the hurricane and plenty of rain, but the neighbor kids are playing outside. What are their parents thinking?

... that their kids are heavy enough to not be blown away - got a pic of those kids?

One is only 8. He's playing with a boogie board in the ditches and the other is riding a scooter in the street. We've had 8 inches of rain so far, plus hide tide from the river and sound is bringing more water.

Oh my GOD, I would SO love a piggy cuddle! :adore: That's freakin' adorable.

I bet your kids would really enjoy that.
Here's a pig eating cheese.

there seem to be 1 Padd for every topic in Trek... and no internet(?)

if this was the reality here and now, how many pads would i have laying around?
probably 3 or 4 for food/baking/cooking
the same for my favourite star trek series
one pad for how-to-tie-a-tie (for funerals and christmas)
i would have some on welding and metallurgy
a couple on architecture
several padds on art/photography/artists
some pads on mathematics and astronomy
some random stuff pads...

i think i would easily have around 30-50 of them that would be must-have...
oh yeah and one pad on how to build a paddshelf.

Yikes! I hope everything goes OK, @Velocity .
Once the hurricane shuffled off into the Atlantic, we assessed the damage and besides the flooding and the leaf litter and small branches all over the deck and lawn, we got off very lightly. There were 2 tornadoes spawned around here, but they only hit fields. We were very lucky this time. Much luckier than the Bahamas.
