Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

You ever watch those videos on YouTube where a narrator tells a true story about something that happened, but takes 8 minutes to tell a 90 second story? Once I get enough facts, I stop the video and Google the story to read.

ahhh youtube, i love the two consecutive commercial clips that pops up on every yellow dot on the timeline...

Weather.com: Saturday high 99, Sunday high 98.

Triathlon coach: This is a run heavy weekend. Two runs on Saturday, first an hour and a half, then a 30 minute run to get experience running tired. Sunday, another hour and a half run.

It's not just hot. It's "wake me up when the heat wave is over and do it with ice water in the face" hot.

in my book that's everything above 22°C

I've sold my house!!! At a higher price than I thought. I am not the one who sold it, so I had to pay a fee but even so, it's still worth it. So in the end, moving, cost me some money but since I like my new house better, the region has a better climate, it's even more on the countryside than the other was, and it's a whole new neighborhood and surroundings to explore. Closer to the ski slopes and to the mediterranean sea!!! I feel like I am on vacation! It was well worth the expense! :)

Congrats! Enjoy your new home.

Why do hotel rooms still have landline phones?
Because you can pay extra and use them to make a long-distance call. Or they may allow you to directly call other rooms within the hotel, or call housekeeping separately from room service. If they are just used for calling room service, then it's probably more economical for them to just use the same phones that have always been there instead of replacing them with different equipment.

I’m not following.

A phone that is only used to call the front desk, logically needs no keypad. And I’ve seen phones like that in hotel lobbies and hallways. So why not rooms?
you need to buy new ones while having phones that work perfectly well - just think how many new phones the donald needed for his hotels

If you buy a poster from an auction site that has several pictures of its condition, but when it arrives you find they slopped up the placing of the poster into the tube so bad so there are repeating creases crinkle patterns down the length of the poster and this was a near-mint decades' old, original poster... grr. At least the poster's artwork don't make it terribly obvious but these things aren't cheap for a reason. If nothing else, it's still worth more than folded copies but this place is known FOR selling posters so it's a surprise nonetheless...

I agree some things shouldn't be left in the hands of careless assholes. As a kid, I got into an argument with the mailman because he couldn't be persuaded to put my comicbook in our mailbox without folding it, even though there was room enough for him to keep it flat, that idiot kept folding it. I tried to make him understand but he was dumber than a bag of rocks so my father called the post office and things got better after that. In fact, they assigned a different guy to our sector. Some people!!!

Let's say the storm Area 51 thing is real and there are actually enough people to do it. Doesn't have to be a million, just enough. Ignoring the logistics of getting everyone there or what to do once everyone is there, this raid would never even start. Everyone there wants to see the "aliens" inside. Good luck getting 90% of them to willingly die to allow the remaining people to get in.

^ Anybody trying to storm Area 51 wouldn't last ten seconds.

If the blazing heat doesn't get them, the military would.

So if there's anybody who's such a total dumbass that they would actually try that...the phrase "thinning of the herd" tends to spring to mind.
