Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Speaking of hedgehogs: is it just my imagination or have they really gotten very rare lately? I haven't seen a single one this year.
hedgehogs are seen at night
last Year my eye caught two in action, it's true the mate very, very, VERY careful

LOL yes, which is why I decided to edit that last sentence out again. It's not really what one wants to read at lunchtime.

I agree, in spite of sunny weather, no butterflies here either. It's kinda depressing when you spend too much time wondering about it. Insects are going extinct all over Europe. It's about time we do something about it.

I've heard it called the Windshield Effect or Windshield Phenomenon or something similar.

Years ago when you'd take any length of a road trip, especially at night, you'd always end up with bug carcasses covering your windshield. That just does not seem to happen today. It's not that they're suggesting that our windshields have anything to do with the disappearance of bugs, but it's an absolute sign that they are disappearing. :(

Unusually, we've seen quite a few Butterflies near us (UK) this year though nearly all have been Monarch ones if I'm not mistaken. I would like to see more.

We've also had bees set up a nest just behind our garage this year:)

I think I've seen one hedgehog and one badger this year, but also a fair few foxes.

Did you say badger?

At the movies right now. Showed up about 15 minutes early to our show and no one had gone into the screening room. I think because the doors were closed, the first ones there just stood around waiting and everyone else followed suit. So we went in and were the only ones there. No one else came in until several minutes later. Too bad it’s assigned seating. Could’ve gotten much better seats.
