Because they have to struggle to get there. It's the same thing in life, people who have to struggle to get somewhere (socially) are stronger than the ones that got everything from their parents.

true, but unfortunately it's usually the latter who get voted into the highest positions. Admittedly, in many businesses, in IT, schools or hospitals that makes sense: the bosses are far away from the customers/computers/children/sick people and thus can't harm them. In politics, however, they do harm galore.
