Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

^same here. What angers me is that the older I get, the less time I have to just search for answers, let alone finding any. Time seems to slip through my fingers like water

Not a fan of white chocolate. But I do remember the summer of 1993, being briefly addicted to milky bar ice cream. A milky soft ice cream coated in a crispy layer of white chocolate.

You know how one internet search can lead to another and pretty soon you're on an entirely different subject and you don't know how you got there? Well I just came across something I never really thought about, but it all makes perfect sense -- martial arts frauds.

During the '80s ninja movie craze and karate explosion where schools were popping up in strip malls, they had to make themselves stand out from everyone else, so time to pad the resume and claim you were taught an ancient art overseas by a legendary grand master and now you're sharing those techniques exclusively to the residents of Fresno right next door to the sandwich shop.

Some of them actually rose to prominence building lie upon lie. The movie Bloodsport is supposed to be based on the "true life story" of one of them, which shows you just how far they were able to go with these shams.

That doesn't surprise me. When a claim is unverifiable/unverified and there's money to be gained by making it you have to be at least suspicious that it could be a lie.

I'm guilty of a similar fraud myself: last year a few drunken teenagers mobbed me. When the guys appeared to prepare for an attack I warned them: "beware, I do both Ikebana and Origami." - The kiddies took to their heels immediately :D
morale: always listen carefully - not everything Japanese is martial.
morale 2: nothing beats a really good bluff *does evil crone trademark cackle*

Thinking, maybe, that my memoir might be of interest to local history group. I’ve been on google earth and the old maps, but the details I’m recalling aren’t on any maps, and there aren’t any photos. The places I used to play aren’t there any more, shops have changed names and changed hands. Everything has changed, but there are still clues.

White chocolate needs other flavors like mint or raspberries.

Why is it that all the clickbait for FOODS TO NEVER EAT has a pic of a banana?

Why bananas? Are they just targeting people fixated on carbs and hoping they don’t know fruit is sweet because of carbs?
