Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Not to mention the drinking water piped through miles of lead pipes.

Historians say that the fall of Rome was caused by lead poisoning. Rich Romans would eat meals cooked in lead (the richer the more lead there was) and that's what drove the emperors and their closest advisers to become the lunatics that we know, causing the city of Rome to become more and more decadent. At least that's what the theory says. Without lead maybe we'd still live like the Romans?:D

If aluminum were that toxic in trace amounts, wouldn't drinking sodas out of aluminum cans be an issue?

I didn't say it was as toxic as lead. In fact, I said the opposite. Something doesn't have to cause crippling diseases to be toxic. Still, it was shown to have some bad effects on your health. However, anything that's made of aluminum that stays in contact with food is problematic, especially if that food has acid properties like some sodas have.

I mean, is there any study that’s been done on health problems among people who drink from aluminum cans? How much aluminum is necessary to cause problems?

Haven't clicked on the link yet, but from what I understand, there is a link between aluminum and Alzheimer's.

It seems like it’s more concerning foods that have aluminum compounds in them, not things that touch aluminum. I didn’t read it in full though.

Well, in the documentary I've seen, they said that there was a link between aluminum food containers and the accentuation of some diseases. So it seems that some of the aluminum migrates to the food.

That’s actually really scary. My family has always packed sandwiches for lunch in aluminum foil. That’s 13 years of contamination. Eeeeeek.

I’m gonna have to think of an alternative for my husband’s lunches. Baggies are too small for a long roll. Any suggestions?

Maybe a food wrapping paper, like they use to wrap meat or bread in small stores.

{{{{{{{Nakita Akita}}}}}}} I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there any chance to repair the damage surgically or are there too many ulcers? Please, keep us updated on your dog's condition!

After the three blood transfusions, they would have had to scope her and possibly fix wherever the bleeding was occurring.
Anyway I don't have money like that and it probably would have been worse on her.
She was so sick from the blood loss I had to have her put down.

But it came on her quickly and was over fairly quickly too.
She was eating and playing just fine up until 7 days before I had to put her down.

She's playing with her big brother now who died in 2017.
