Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

This got me into reading my first non-fiction book of the year.

Two things that younger folks always notice about old movies are how well people used to dress and how much people used to smoke. Nowadays we all have clean lungs but we go out in public looking like slobs.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad someone mentioned this. In old movies people were very well dressed and smoked like houses but yeah totally see this outside all the fricking time

When did dressing up not become a thing anymore?
I look at my high school senior photos, and while I'm not wearing a suit and tie like my father in his senior photo, I'm still wearing a nice shirt and sweater and my hair is combed.
I like at my niece and nephew yearbook photos and everyone looks like they're taking a selfie.

Exhausted. Yesterday I intended to get the disabled transit to go shopping for groceries. I was on the way down to the bus when I discovered the elevator wasn't working. I live on the 4th floor. That meant I couldn't get the bus and didn't have enough time to phone them to let them know. The driver tried to contact me but didn't let the phone ring enough times.

So I thought, okay, online ordering. Turns out the website is evil. It ensnared me in a feedback loop of "prove you're human and not a robot." I've spent multiple hours in customer service calls with FOUR agents so far, and will soon be a fifth. Turns out that I'm eligible for a delivery charge refund because I'm a senior who is disabled. The kicker is that I have to contact them about it AFTER everything's delivered.

Which it has been now, and whoever picked this has no clue how to pack a fruit pie. You never put it on its side. I don't have a blueberry pie that I can slice into pieces. I have a mess of crust and filling that's only edible with a spoon.

And this is a lesser issue, but still annoying. The website said they had cucumber potato chips. I love those, so ordered a few. Turns out the website lied and they substituted dill pickle. Dill pickle chips are okay... but now I have four bags of them. There wasn't time to request a different substitute (I'd gladly take 4 bags of ketchup chips).

So I haven't slept much (one of the customer service calls yesterday was at 11 pm) and I still haven't eaten today (should do that), but I really just want to go back to bed. But today is a home care day and I need to be awake for that...

We had uniforms at highschool so bad dressing was not an option unless it was a "civvies day" which was wear your regular clothes day, and even then most of everyone wore nice things and the girls tarted themselves up a bit more with makeup and attractive clothes. The guys mostly dressed like they were sitting on a sofa watching movies
