Generation gap
I am 47 and i have 20-22 year old rookies in my team. They were talking about some minimal local rapper "celebrity" who's apparently working in our company and couldn't believe i had no clue who he was.
Then again when i talk about classic movies from the 80s and 90s i draw blank stares from them

Today I got an envelope from the IRS. I opened it with trepidation and there were 2 identical letters inside, one for me and one for my deceased husband, that said that there would be a delay in processing our tax refund but that the problem was fixed and we would receive the check within 10 days. We already received that check about a week ago. Governmental efficiency at its finest! Actually I'm glad that I received it at all, since I filed last March.
I know what Peter Gabriel said the song "Sledgehammer" was about but I'm convinced that it was in fact the TV character.

Hell, my dad's wife (his third) had no idea who Avril Lavigne was. Sure, you wouldn't expect someone in their 70s to be familiar with the latest pop music, but Avril's been famous for 20 years!

She's a Canadian pop punk / alt rock musician who first became famous with her debut album release in the early 2000s. (She was also briefly married to Chad Kroeger in the mid-2010s.)

He's the frontman for universally-hated Canadian band Nickelback.
So hated, in fact, that their latest single, San Quentin, recently hit #2 on Billboard's Canada Rock chart, and also recently spent more than one week at #1 on Canada's Rock 20.
