Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Do any restaurant all’s actually enforce the tie limits?

They say ‘Please limit your stay to an hour and a half’. But has any bar in the history of this limitation said ‘Excuse me high value paying customer, the law says you have to leave now?’ I’m doubting they even track it.

what are you talking about? i have no clue whatsoever

I had a moment of pure terror this morning on my bike ride. I was going to cross one of the busy streets near where I live, and I checked all of the directions and there where no cars coming, and I had the walk sign, so rode out into the street, and a huge truck turned out of nowhere and almost hit me. The damn thing was so close I could have reached out and touched the grill. The thing was huge, the grill actually went up over my head. I think if had managed to run me over, I would have ended up a smear on the pavement.
I swear I don't remember seeing it when I checked that direction, so all I can think it is must have pulled out of the nearby store's parking lot when I was looking in the other direction.

 Geez, that was a close call. Glad to hear you came out unscathed (physically, at least).

Glad you are ok but that is terror... I got knocked down by a bus when I was in high school riding a bicycle in a bike lane, side mirror of the bus clipped my bag which was on my shoulders and knocked me flying onto the sidewalk.

Yikes.
I've had a few other close calls, but luckily nobody actually hit me.

Yeah it scared the shits out of me at the time. Some girls were walking home from my high school so did get some kind assistance, and a phone number.

I don’t know how nationwide it is but Massachusetts has a COVID rule you can only stay at a restaurant for an hour and a half and in California it seems to be hour and 45 minutes.
thx - our restaurants here in germany are still in lockdown for indoor dining

One or two of the pubs near me (in the UK) have (technically) got that as a rule, but it doesn't seem to be particularly enforced. Most still seem to shut earlier rather than later though. It might be different in the City, but we tend to go more to country ones and it's quieter there.

Anyone play the Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Randalls, etc. Monopoly game this year? All the free grocery items I claimed are suddenly showing up in the app again. It's got to be a glitch, right?

For restaurants, the customers linger and just talk. They only go for the free refills of coffee and sodas, so they are actually costing the establishment money as the table is not available for others to use. I don't know if it is an actual law.

The city borders in my area are fucking nuts, in a 5ish mile bike ride, I cross through 3 different cities.

Sometimes they continue ordering beers though.

In Mass it’s a Covid rule. You can’t buy drinks without also buying food and maximum stay is hour and a half.

I miss Massachusetts. Returning cans and bottles and get cash for more beer. I can't do that in Texas.

Trying on new eyeglass frames is difficult when you are very myopic, but while wearing a mask too, it is practically impossible to judge how they look on your face. Very frustrating and I really need a new pair of glasses.

Italian artist Salvatore Garau recently auctioned an invisible sculpture for 15,000 euros ($18,300). According to as.com, the sculpture's initial price was set between 6,000 and 9,000 euros; however, the price was raised after several bids were placed.

Titled 'Io Sono' (Italian for "I am"), the 67-year-old artist's sculpture is "immaterial," meaning that the sculpture does not actually exist.

Any one want to buy my invisible sculpture?
