For the last couple of years, my wife and I have been going through all episodes of TOS, most of which I haven't watched since I went through the series on rerun back in the '80s.
Last night we watched "The Mark of Gideon", and first I was surprised to discover that the references to contraception and sterilization made it through the censors, especially so much closer to WW2 and the discovery of how bad eugenics turned out to be. That's not something I really noticed when I first watched as a young teenager.
But what surprised me at least as much was when I noticed the writer's credit. This episode was cowritten by Stanley Adams, the actor who had previously played Cyrano Jones.
What other cross-episode connections would be surprising?
