Rain Robinson (Sarah Silverman)

Sarah's comedy would work much better once she's an angry old bitter woman.

"Hey you pesky kids! Get the hell off my lawn!"

Oh, yeah! But what of her tried and true: "What are you thinking about ...?" She may not like the answer, when it doesn't involve playing Find the Cobra!

Any version starring (a pre-Hollywood) Kate Beckinsale ... count me in!!!
I think I prefer her as an English Rose. :)

Branagh may chew the scenery in this version, but he and Thompson and fantastic in this, understandingly so.

And Brian Blessed is...unusually quiet in this.

Sarah Silverman as the Baroness in a reboot of GI Joe.
She still knows how to heat a man's blood ... :mallory:

Brian Blessed can take direction! Most of the time, though, it seems better to just let him go over the top. I like Kenneth Branagh as an actor and director. Although, when he does take on both chores, he always makes sure he takes the plumb role, I'm noticing. It was around this time that Helen Bonham Carter split up Ken & Em, so there is some good acting going on betwixt the two, in this movie. Because the next feature Branagh did was Frankenstein, I believe, where he showcased his impossibly beautiful Home Wrecker. Thompson went on to drop her dowdy intellectual look in favour of a sexier image. Not too unlike the transformation of Sandy in the old classic movie Grease.

Captain Braxton would have put a stop to it, who knows?
maybe Rain was the great grandmother of Zefram Cochrane?
If she gone missing from the time line what would have happened?
( I wondered that about Doctor Gillian Taylor, character, how did here dis-appearance affect the time line?).

Since she and the whales were never mentioned again, probably nothing noticeable happened.

Mind you, I've seen a fanfic where Starfleet realizes almost immediately that Kirk & crew are in the wrong universe, so Gillian's being out of her own time definitely changed something. Unfortunately, I don't think that story was ever finished, so I'm not sure how the situation would have been resolved.

And then there's another story where Gillian's neighbor reports her missing, a cop comes to investigate, and they end up going after the guy at the aquarium, for suspicion of murder (since their argument over George and Gracie was witnessed by other employees and Gillian's truck was found abandoned in the middle of the park).

I find Sarah Silverman - and, by extension, Rain Robinson - to be an "excellent" example of womanhood .. she's intoxicating!

Often wonder what makes her work.
I guess I'll leave that question to the experts
(assuming that there are some out there).
They're probably alone ... solitaire.

I have been trying to find a Clearing House to be the source for all of my Sarah Silverman entertainment needs ... and it's been a hell of a challenge! The closest thing I've found is this, which I thought I'd be nice enough to share with you all ... willingly:

http://sarahsilvermanonline.com/

Now - supposedly - this site's been created and maintained by "Sarah's #1 fan." A dubious title, which I find highly suspect. All I can say for sure is that it's an Informative, if not rather busy-looking, compilation of Sarah Silverman news & products. But, it has a forum and ... and ... and everything!

Apparently there was talk of adding her to the cast as a regular, but it didn't work out. Talked about a missed opportunity. That would have been great . . . .

Huh?? I've never heard this before. At what point did they consider adding her to the cast as a regular? Was it before they cast Sarah Silverman in the role of Rain? Was it during filming when they saw Rain's great chemistry with Tom? Or was it after the show was filmed or aired on TV? I do agree that Sarah Silverman did a great job in this role.

On a side note, I've been rewatching at the Voyager episodes and the next episode to watch is Future's End. I've been putting it off because they episode bores me (I've seen it so many times). ;)
