Rabbit Saves Woman and Child, Woman Leaves Rabbit in Burning Building

Re: Rabbit Saves Woman and Child, Woman Leaves Rabbit in Burning Build

If you're going to post depressing shit, at least don't put it all in the title. :(

Sorry, Kestra. I'll try to avoid it in the future.

Eh sorry, I've happened upon several depressing things here in a row lately and that sucks considering I come here for entertainment. Didn't mean to snap at you!

It's okay. I actually had a bit of a depressing day after making this thread, so I can understand the feeling. ;)

^^ At least you didn't snap loud.

In ST:Voyager, Captain Janeway likes to eat a food dish called 'Welsh rabbit'... :wtf:

*smacks MLB in the arm* That's toast points and CHEESE sauce. No bunny involved. (It used to be my favorite school lunch, only they used Saltines instead of toast.)

Like RJ said, I'm sure the mom feels heartsick over this. :(

Rabbit sandwich or Rabbit soup? Decisions... decisions....

According to an old Betty Crocker cookbook I have around the house, Welsh Rabbit is a cheese dish that doesn't actually have any rabbit in it. The name seems to derive--according to the book--from the fact that Welsh peasants once ate melted cheese in place of rabbit when they weren't allowed to hunt on the nobles' lands. Just FYI

Anyway, I feel sorry for the heroic bunny.

I've also seen it referred to as "Welsh Rarebit".

Whew — at first I thought it read, “Woman Leaves Rabbi in Burning Building”.

I've also seen it referred to as “Welsh Rarebit”.
The spelling “rarebit” is a twee affectation.

Mincemeat pie doesn't have meat in it and spotted dick might not have dick in it. Jury's still out on that though because no one has every dared to eat it.

Before it was used to mean animal flesh exclusively, the word “meat” could mean food in a more generic sense, as in “sweetmeats” or “nut meats.”

WTF is spotted dick anyway?

It looks quite good, if the recipe is any indication.

The bunny is in Rabbit Heaven, now... no dogs, wolves, coyotes or hawks ... just infinite room to breed like rabbits.

Re: Rabbit Saves Woman and Child, Woman Leaves Rabbit in Burning Build

Bring us some figgy pudding and bring it right here.

Re: Rabbit Saves Woman and Child, Woman Leaves Rabbit in Burning Build

Mmm.... figgy pudding. Of course, if I got the line "we won't go until we get some", I'd have to call the cops and demand the singers to get the hell out of my Dickensian workshop. :D

Re: Rabbit Saves Woman and Child, Woman Leaves Rabbit in Burning Build

J. if you post that line, there's no end to the innuendo and good-natured ribbing I would level upon you.

Oh, believe me, "we won't go until we get some" brought forth a more, *ahem*, pointed response, until I repressed it in the name of civility. :ouch:

Re: Rabbit Saves Woman and Child, Woman Leaves Rabbit in Burning Build

Actually, the rabbit was planning to eat the woman, but started before she was dead & woke her up instead.

"vorpal bunny" ;)
