R.I.P. Peter Vaughan, AKA Maester Aemon from Game of Thrones. And now his watch has ended.

I've been reading his acting credits. What a prolific career. Time Bandits was awesome!

So is Brazil, which remains my favorite Terry Gilliam! I didn't realize Vaughan was in either of those films. I guess I'll have to watch them again. Damn.

I never knew he was in Time Bandits, but I knew him best in Porridge, the 70's BBC comedy series with Ronnie Barker.

I've always associated him with "Remains of the Day", Charles Dickens and the 1988 miniseries, "The Bourne Identity" with Richard Chamberlain.
