R.I.P. Glen A. Larson (1937-2014)

Love him or hate he was a prolific producer thoughout the '70s and '80s. But I have to wonder what will become his Galactica movie rights.

Larsen was awesome. With hsi shows he really nailed the "awesome opening premise narration" mixed with bombastic music theme. Such an important part of my childhood

Hmm, he was the creator of my favorite show of all time:

Automan. That's the show that introduced me to science fiction, and I still love it. So corny but it all worked so well.

I saw Tron years later, and thought it was a horrible story, and to this date I haven't seen it more than once.

It is really too bad that Automan gets called a Tron knockoff, because other than the visual effects and the superficial similarities (two shows about computer holography), Automan is 20 times a better story, and had amazing optimism that plays beautifully as an entrance to the 80's optimism in computer technology.

TOS BSG was a good show as well. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek with is what made it great. I even loved the first episode of Galactica 1980, and it's too bad the rest of it sucked balls.

I was looking foward to the remake of BSG with Larson. Is that still in the works?

Loved Automan too. The effects of his body were great, and he had a kick-ass car to boot! To a five year old, that sort of impression stuck.
