Wow, looking through IMDB Hardy Boys, Buck Rogers, Battlestar, Knight Rider, Six Million Dollar Man, Automan, Quincy, even dubious stuff like Manimal and BJ and the Bear all were a big part of my childhood. Throw in Magnum PI and Fall Guy later as icing on the cake.

Sad to see ya go you I've spent a lot of time in the worlds you've created.

RIP Glen :sigh: , you gave us so much television entertainment. I was a mere boy when the original BSG on abc captured my imagination.

He was the architect of my childhood. Almost everything I loved on network television in the eighties was created by him.

    He shall be missed.

He'll be known as the creator of Battlestar Galactica (or more likely, the version that was a failure in the eyes of the public.) But his death could (humorously) be reported like this, Weekend Update-style:

'Glen A. Larson, famed TV producer know for TV shows like Battlestar Galactica, The Fall Guy, Manimal and several others, died today at the age of 77. His consciousness will later be revived in a new body via upload to a central server on board a Cylon Basestar.'

Such sad news. Even more tragic that he couldn't live to see TOS Battlestar reborn, as it was one of his passions. RIP Father Creator. :(

Indeed. From BSG to Magnum, he was responsible for a lot of what I loved back in my childhood.

    Rest in peace, sir.

Well said, and it mirrors my thoughts as well. I was a big fan of so many of Larson's shows. He was a great influence on my youth as well.

The world is a richer place for his time in it.

And that he did. I can't imagine the 1980's with Magnum and K.I.T.T., and I wouldn't take back a single hour of even repeated re-run viewing. Good times.

I'm shocked. R.I.P. Mr Larson :-(. Thanks for all the great shows particularly BSG, Buck Rogers, Knight Rider, Fall Guy and Magnum P.I. and for casting Richard Anderson as Oscar Goldman in The Six Million Dollar Man.
I've just been reading the article linked at the top of this thread and noticed a whopping error:

"Larson was a key player in the career of TV leading man Lee Majors, who starred in the Larson-created ABC series “The Six Million Dollar Man” (1974-78) and “The Fall Guy” (1981-86)"

The italics are mine. Larson didn't create The Six Million Dollar Man. Martin Caidin did in his book "Cyborg", Larson simply produced two of the three TV-Movies that lead to the show which Harve Bennett was largely responsible for.

They said that he created the series, not the character.

R.I.P Mr Larson...You were an important part of my childhood as I loved and watched MOST of your creations, yes even the bad ones such as Manimal. When I read the news last night I felt as bad as when Gene Roddenberry past.. Sad indeed. :weep:

Really sad news. I had a lot of favorite shows as a kid, but as an 8 year old Knight Rider was definitely at the very top of the list.

And even if they don't hold up well today, I still enjoyed the heck out of BSG, Buck Rogers, Six Million Dollar Man, and even the Fall Guy and Automan.

And of course Magnum was just at a whole other level of awesome.
