R.I.P. Ed Lauter

I think it's too bad he didn't play a more significant role in Trek. That scene with him apologizing for his son's mistake was just flat out great, should have been on the list among other actors who Trek likes to bring back every once in awhile.

R.I.P.

For me, he's the uppity cop from The Rocketeer. As a kid, seeing him next in a subdued role in The First Duty was a surprise. I expected him to be a hard-ass or something.

Great character actor who was everywhere in the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

R.I.P.---you did memorable work and we wanted to see more of it!

If only Wesley confessed when he came to apologize for his son.

"What? You little shit!" *beats Wesley*

I will always remembered him as the head prison guard/quarterback in The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds from 1974.

"Game ball".

RIP, Mr. Lauter.

He was a pretty great character actor.

The thing I most remember him from was Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise! He fit right in with those damn Alpha Betas who tormented the poor Tri-Lambs.

I also remember him as the football coach in Not Another Teen Movie.

Not the best examples from his career, but he was memorable in both of those movies. :)
