As a big fan of MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000) I have often heard Joel and the bots quote either James or Spock, and I'm somewhat curious in which episode(s) the following things were said:
"I'm not going back, Jim!"
"I'm in love Jim!"
And "Must...save....Spock~~!!"

If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it!

Are you sure these are really from a TOS episode? The first two could be off of "For The World Is Hollow And I Have Touched The Sky" -- since McCoy decides to leave the ship ("I'm not going back, Jim!") and is in love with Natira ("I'm in love Jim!"). But "Must ... save ... Spock!" -- I don't know.

Was that of any help?

From The Annotated MST

The phrase “I’m not going back, Jim,” a reference to the Star Trek episode “This Side of Paradise,” was one of the writers’ favorites. Mary Jo Pehl’s comment, from the MST Episode Guide: “’I’m not going back, Jim’ was one of our favorite catchphrases around here, until we rented the video of that Star Trek episode and were stunned to realize that Spock never says that.”

Thinking about it, those two are kind of obvious, how often does Spock fall in love?

Google did not help with that one :brickwall:

I assumed that it was Spock who said the first 2 lines, but if you say that McCoy said it; I'll check it out.

And I guess that the latter is from TOS, since Spock wasn't in TNG as far as I know.

And yes, you helped me out a lot. Thanks!

He was, but nobody was around to say that line in... that... way... ;)

And yeah, I assumed it was Spock too saying the first two, but then McCoy does indeed fall in love in FTWIHAIHTTS.

Must save Spock, "Spock's Brain"?

Wow, there's an annotated MST site...?!
Thanks, Squire!

If anyone knows for sure where "Must ... save... Spock" comes from, do let me know.
