Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

So, how many people's Facebook friends now have statuses denouncing Kanye West? I've noticed a few (which are very much deserved after his latest stunt). Unfortunately, one of them came from my aforementioned cousin --the one who usually just posts stuff about the Jonas Brothers-- and she labelled Kanye a "fag". You'd think the fact that she has a gay relative would make her more sensitive to the use of such terms, but you'd be mistaken.

Ugh... you know, I love her, but sometimes, I'm embarrassed to be related to her.

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

^ Yup. There are so many infact, that I'm starting to wonder what the hell he did that is worth this much fuss.

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

I figured out how to hide all the Mafia Wars/Farmville/Yoville/whatever games so I don't see them as status updates anymore.

Please tell me how to do this! That Mafia Wars stuff is annoying

When you see them in your update feed, just hover the mouse over them, and you should see a little box on the upper right portion of the update that says Hide. I think it gives you a few options on how much you're going to hide after that.

Thank You! That did the trick, that stuff was so annoying

Yeah, there was about seven or eight of those in my news feed. I joined the four or five expressing confusion on the incident, since I didn't watch the VMA. I tried to add a little bit of social commentary by commenting how everyone had Kanye statuses while ironically having a Kanye status (only two other people in my news feed did that).

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

I was so confused about this Kanye thing until Wally filled me in but, yeah, I saw a ton of status updates, too.

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

I only saw one update and that was from Alidar's update. I can't say I really care about Kanye.

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

Yeah, I don't care about the MVAs, so I had no idea they were even on tonight until I saw all these Facebook statuses about Kanye West's douchebaggery. So I guess at the very least, I can always use Facebook to get the latest entertainment news.

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

I don't care if someone updates their facebook status often. I'm not forced to respond to it or care. I do hate constantly having application results and invites on my feed. I've started banning people from my feed and at this rate, there won't be anyone left!

Facebook isn't exactly supposed to be meaningful, though. I don't go there for intellectual enrichment.

Ugh, Mobsters and Kidnapped are the worst. I have all those apps on ignore.
Facebook has enriched my life, though. I've reconnected with a bunch of old high school friends, and now a group of about 12 of us are hanging out again, going out for dinner and drinks, bowling, movies, all kinds of stuff.

I don't think most people are even thinking about gays when they say "fag" anymore. From what I've observed, the word usually refers to someone who's just really lame. You know, like a real-life Dwight Schrute. Kind of like "cocksucker" is someone who's a big jerk, rather than a man who actually engages in the act of fellatio. I think that's the direction "fag" is heading in.

You had the Pacific ocean to buffer you from status updates. It was quite the pandemic last night.

Re: Quick! Update your Facebook status! Someone might actually give a

I learned about Kanye on CNN's Facebook feed.

Yeah, fucking CNN.
