Quick question about Signature Series: Pantheon

This book blends Reunion and The Valiant, and I'm curious how it does so. It looks to me like "The Valiant" would be the Prologue, Part 2, and Epilogue, and "Reunion" would be Part 1; is that right?

Or, to ask a different way, does the book Reunion start with the line "In the dream, he was on a crowded shuttlecraft" and end with the line "It was a wonder, Guinan supposed, that her friend had survived the ordeal at all..."?

If I'm wrong about this and the stories were blended differently, how was it done?

This kind of thing annoys the crap out of me; I know it's picayune, but I want to read the novels as originally published, or at least know how they were changed for the second version. I just got the one book because it was cheaper than getting two.

The Prologue and Epilogue of the original version of "The Valiant" serve as the Prologue and Epilogue of the omnibus reprint, "Pantheon".

After the Prologue comes the rest of "The Valiant", followed by a seven-paragraph new bridging piece from Guinan's POV (specially written for the omnibus), then "Reunion", followed by the original Epilogue of "The Valiant".

Yes.

No, the short closing paragraph of "Reunion" starts "That was how they emerged from the lift..."

I was going to create a different thread to ask this. But how many Signature editions were published and what stories do they contain? I already have Duty, Honour, Redemption by the way :bolian:

Seven. Follow the URL in my previous post:

Cheers for that Therin, I hadn't realised they did seven of them, I might try and get the Imzadi Forever edition as I've heard Imzadi is a rather good read.

Thanks, Therein; I appreciate the information. Helpful people on this board :)

If you haven't read Imzadi yet you really should, it's one of the two TNG series era books I've read (along with Reunion, which I also enjoyed), and it's a great book. The ironic part of my reading Reunion is that I actually have the Pantheon, but I still haven't read The Valiant at all yet.

The novel The Valiant by Michael Jan Friedman, an account of how Picard became commander of the Stargazer. It was originally published in hardcover, and was a "pilot" for the Stargazer novel series.
