Question for the Moderators

Hi,
I’m wondering if there would be any objections to my posting an original work here. The reason I ask is that it isn’t Star Trek related.

It’s a superhero based series that I’m planning to host on my own site later this year. But I thought it might be nice to test run the pilot here at BBS.

It would not be more than about ten chapters. Future “episodes” will stay at five chapters. Of course, I would not post future stories unless permission was granted and there was interest for it. However, I could provide a link to those who want to follow the series after this initial story.

Anyway, I thought I would ask first, so as not to annoy people by breaking forum rules.

The rule we run by is that this is a Trek board, so we need at least half the visible fic to be trek based. Take a look at the front page on the day you wish to start your series, and as long as at least half of it is Trek-based fic, go ahead and post yours. If not, wait a day or two. Remember your story has to conform to the usual board rules about nothing over pg13, images not being hot-linked and stuff like that.

To be honest, I've modded this forum for over 7 years () and I can't ever remember a time when we didn't have at least 50% Trek.

I see you're a night bird too. I hadn't expected a reply until tomorrow.
I agree. I almost always see nothing but visible trek fiction here at any given time. But I will look even more carefully before posting, just to be sure. The other conditions are no problem. The material is PG-13 with some mild profanity since the characters are contemporary.
If all goes well, I'll put up the first two chapters tomorrow night sometime.

I usually don't read much of the non-Trek fiction, but since you're writing it, I can't wait! Sounds like an interesting premise.

But I couldn’t have picked a nicer audience to do a test run.

The mods are pretty good here..heck, I have written stuff about flys, and arrogant tribbles who think they are stars, and I even have a story set in the universe of Battlestar Galactica...They pretty much have a loose leash here..just don't all crazy in the story and you'll do fine..

Yes...and isn't it a nice day today? (I live in Mira Mesa)...we are swimming in the pool today..just got back from driving around Poway area...just a stunningly beautiful day...

That is a nice area...we went to BATE NUT FARMS out east of Wild Animal Part (on way to the valley view casino)..nice rural areas out there...

I hate the notion of anyone accidentally deep-sixing an original story because they posted it online without realizing that nowadays some markets consider that "published".
