I know this was mentioned before, but is it at all possible to sticky the fan fic challenge winners thread?

I know you don't prune it, but people kind of forget it's there if it isn't right in front of them.

Just a thought :)

I sticky the challenge or vote threads. To be honest, I don't think people 'see' stickied threads more than others. If anything, less. Just remind each winner to post and it will get new viewers.

^Exactly, plus new visitors to the thread can see the previous challenge winners easily without having to trawl through weeks/months of threads.

New visitors might not even know that the thread exists.

Pinning it would also help remind winners what challenges have already been issued.

I'm reluctant to pin too mahy threads at the top of the page. We have less 'new threads' than many forums. A pile of 'stuck threads' just makes us look a less active forum.

Care to nominate one for un-pinning?

I would agree with that as well. Interest in that thread seems to have dried up over the past year: months have gone by without a single post. At least, with the challenge-winners thread, you're guaranteed one new post each month.

One more reason to sticky the "Winners" thread. This is my post in the current challenge thread.

Camelopard, and probably others.

Sorry for any ambiguity. What I meant was a rewrite of either an episode from one of the Trek series or movies...or a rewrite of an episode or story posted here as fan fiction. The story should be re-writen as if happening in the mirror universe.

:D I agree this is a very intriguing idea. In fact, I beat everyone to it by almost exactly one year. For the August/September 06 monthly Challenge: Alternate Universes, my submission was a story called "Captain's Desire" a mirror version of Captain's Holiday. My apologies to Dulak, being new to the board there is no real way he could have known because I'm sure the story has been pruned by now. I'm reposting it to the forum. Of course, there is a slightly longer, spiced up version on the Picard/Vash Romance Fanfiction website. Interestingly enough this is the same story of mine another author (with my permission) over on fanfiction.net has just started a sequel for.

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie
