Regarding the end of "Indistinguishable from Magic", was having Challenger destroyed, and Geordi go back to the Enterprise, something that was mandated by Pocket, or would you have been allowed to keep him in command of his own starship if you'd wanted to?

Regarding the end of "Indistinguishable from Magic", was having Challenger destroyed, and Geordi go back to the Enterprise, something that was mandated by Pocket, or would you have been allowed to keep him in command of his own starship if you'd wanted to?

Having him back on the Enterprise was part of the "leave things as you found them," yeah, as they'd already got other stuff in the pipeline. Destroying Challenger was my choice as part of the storyline.
