Question about Wesley Crusher (Spoilers: Paths of Disharmony)

Not really much of a spoiler, but trying to be cautious...

I've just started reading Paths of Disharmony and early on Beverly mentions that Wesley only visits infrequently and briefly, but that the last time he came back was for Rene Picard's birth.

In what book or text does the above take place?

Or is that something that was just mentioned but we haven't actually seen happen yet?

Rene's birth has not been shown. Beverly was about five months pregnant at the end of Losing the Peace, and we don't see the Picards again until Paths of Disharmony, in which Rene is just over a year old. The only glimpse we get of the Enterprise crew in the intervening sixteen months is the participation of Worf, Choudhury, and Elfiki in portions of DTI: Watching the Clock.
