Question about the into (Spoilers)

OK,movie was awesome-my expectations were blown away.But there's one little nitpick ....

(Spoiler Warning)

In the first scene,Robau (sp?) fires back at Neros ship.IMO,my thought process woulda been for the Kelvin to get the f*** out and save the shooting for when they get backup.Not open fire being outgunned that severely.

Am I alone in this thought?It doesn't even come close to ruining the film,I just caught myself during the scene thinking man,I'd be runnin if I was you lol....

The first salvo knocked out the Kelvin's warp drive, IIRC.

There was no way the crew of the Kelvin would know the Narada came from 139 years in the future. As you could hear, it took a few seconds for the shields to be down and warp to be disabled. A few seconds.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the first salvo beat the crap out of the Kelvin. There was one point when a salvo of torpedoes hit the Enterprise and it knocked shields down to 32%. Imagine a craft with technology 25 years older.

It was jarring to see the entire fleet of that time turned into scrap by ONE ship.Ouch.It was sad seeing all the pretty ships get reduced to tin that fast.

It was hella cool actually! To see Starfleet suck it like they always should from the Romulans!
